9th Annual SMA STEM Scholarship Reception
The 9th Annual Souder, Miller & Associate STEM Scholarship Reception took place last weekend at the New Life City Church located near our Albuquerque Office. The STEM Scholarship program annually awards academic scholarships to Native American students pursuing a four-year degree in STEM fields. To date, the program has contributed over $230,000 to over 50 eligible students.
This year, the program awarded scholarships to seven new recipients. Five of the seven Recipients and their families attended the banquet to celebrate their achievement. Karl Tonander, CEO; Johnny Johnson, Navajo Nation Standing Rock Chapter President; and Anthony Allison of the New Mexico State Council gave speeches to commend the students at the event. Parents of some of the recipients took the opportunity to speak as well.
The 2022 SMA STEM Scholarship recipients and their chosen universities are:
Bailey Kaybah Nez – Lawrence University
Cade Dillon Allison – San Juan College
Darin Ty Nez – Fort Lewis College
Easton McCall Tolliver – Oklahoma State University
Isiah Charles - New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology
Jodi Louise King – Northern Arizona University
Robert Cantu – Fort Lewis College
We’re excited to see what each of these bright young minds bring to their respective fields! Congratulations to all of these exemplary young scholars!
