SMA Names New Directors

We are proud to announce the following new appointments as Directors at SMA.The following individuals have histories as proven leaders and all share a powerful commitment to serving their respective sectors. These new appointments are:

Tod L. Phinney, P.E., Senior VP named Public Sector Market Director

Tod L. Phinney, P.E. has been named Public Market Sector Director, overseeing the State, Local Government, Department of Transportation, and Rural Utilities Market Sectors. Phinney is a registered professional engineer in New Mexico and Florida. While with SMA Phinney has held roles focused on municipal clients and water and wastewater management. Phinney joined SMA in 2013 and is a Senior Vice President.

William F. Brewster, P.S., CFedS, Senior VP appointed to Director of Client Development, Geomatics Services

William F. Brewster, P.S., CFedS, has been appointed as Director of Client Development, Geomatics Services. Brewster has an extensive career in geomatics, being licensed in several states and having established branch offices for firms in several regions of the United States.

“The position of Director of Client Development specifically for a client community isn’t new to SMA, but filling the position now is reflective of Bill’s extensive knowledge of and commitment to the geomatics profession,” noted CEO Karl Tonander.

In addition to the new title, Brewster remains a Senior Vice President and Market Sector Manager for both the Architects & Engineers and Contractors Market Sectors where he successfully leads efforts to provide services across the mountain west.

Francisco “Paco” Urueta, P.E. returns to SMA as Private Market Sector Director

Francisco “Paco” Urueta, P.E. has returned to SMA and been named Private Market Sector Director, overseeing the Private Development, Oil & Gas, Renewable Energy, Architects & Engineers, and Contractors Market Sectors. Urueta was previously with SMA working with a variety of private and public clients predominantly in southern New Mexico and west Texas. In his new role, Urueta will broaden his support and attention to private clients throughout the mountain west.
